Chicago Plane Crash - Jet Crash - Chicago Executive Airport

A small jet plane crashed as it was about to approach around 1:30 p.m. into Chicago's Executive Airport Tuesday. The Federal Aviation Administration said it was unclear what caused the crash to crash into a forest, noting that the jet had just been cleared for visual approach to the airport.
The jet, according to the FAA, was registered to the Waterford-based Royal Air Freight.
It's not immediately clear how many people were aboard and if there were injuries.

Bakersfield Airport closed - Hazardous materials in checked bag
California's Bakersfield Airport was shut down following the alert at around 7:30 am (1530 GMT), Tuesday. Flights in and out of Meadows Field Airport in Bakersfield California have been suspended when hazardous materials were found in a checked bag.
Two staff were "feeling generally unwell" from exposure to the substance and were being treated at a local hospital as a precaution."
A deputy from Kern County Sheriff's Department told Fox the adult male owner of the bag in question had been taken into custody but did not give more information.

Google announcement of the Nexus One release was finally happening. Google has unveiled an own-brand smartphone called the Nexus One at Google's HQ in Mountain View, BBC reported.
Google's Nexus One phone is a slim, touchscreen phone that runs Google's Android operating system.
The release of the Nexus One is seen as a move to ensure Google remains relevant as people search the web using mobile phones rather than typing queries into a PC.
At the briefing, Google said the Nexus was "a point of convergence where the web meets phone and is an example of what is possible on mobile through Android."

Jayson Williams Car Crash
Former NBA star Jayson Williams crashed his SUV into a tree early Tuesday, hurting the star. Jayson Williams' car crash happened after exiting the FDR Drive at East 20th Street in Manhattan around 3:15 a.m.
He is in stable condition after being taken to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries. Police said he may have been drinking before the crash.

Former NBA star Jayson Williams crashed SUV into tree
Williams, who retired from professional basketball because of injuries in 1999, played the last years of his career with the New Jersey Nets.
He was known for his rebounding skills, and averaged 8 points and 12 rebounds per game for the 30 games he played in the 1998-99 season, according to the National Basketball Association's Web site.
He is awaiting retrial on manslaughter charges related to the shooting death of his limousine driver in 2002, and he has had other run-ins with the law since then.

The almost finished Senegal Statue shows a Soviet-style bronze statue of a man, woman and child overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and dominating the horizon of the capital, Dakar. The Senegal's new 160-foot African renaissance monument worth $27 million is now in the midst of controversy.

Last week, the president sought to deflect criticism from Muslim religious leaders by arguing that Christians prayed to a "man called Jesus Christ." He had to apologize to Senegal's Christian minority for comparing Jesus to the statue. The Roman Catholic cardinal of Dakar, Monsignor Theodore Adrien Sarr, said they had been "shaken and humiliated" by the comparison.
Senegal President Wade apologises for Christ comments
President Wade sent his influential son, Karim, who is also a cabinet minister, to deliver a personal apology to Archbishop Sarr after the stone-throwing Christian youths clashed with security forces outside Dakar cathedral on Wednesday.
The archbishop had said: "We were shaken and humiliated by the comparison which the head of state made between the monument to African renaissance and the representations found in our churches."

ESPN 3D to show soccer, football
ESPN will launch ESPN 3D - the industry’s first 3D television network - it was announced today by George Bodenheimer, Co-chairman, Disney Media Networks, and President, ESPN and ABC Sports. ESPN 3D will showcase a minimum of 85 live sporting events during its first year, beginning with the first 2010 FIFA World Cup match on June 11 featuring South Africa vs. Mexico. Other events to be produced in 3D include up to 25 2010 FIFA World Cup matches, Summer X Games, college basketball, and college football, which will include the BCS National Championship game in Glendale, Ariz., January 10, 2011. Additional events will be announced at a later date.
”ESPN’s commitment to 3D is a win for fans and our business partners,” said Bodenheimer. “ESPN 3D marries great content with new technology to enhance the fan’s viewing experience and puts ESPN at the forefront of the next big advance for TV viewing.”
“This will be a meaningful step to drive adoption of 3D television sets and afford opportunities for our affiliates to create value through new product offerings, and our advertisers, who want fresh sponsorship opportunities,” said Sean Bratches, executive vice president, sales and marketing.
ESPN has been testing ESPN 3D for more than two years. Last fall, ESPN produced the USC vs. OSU college football game which was shown in select theaters as well as to 6,000 fans at the Galen Center on USC’s campus. ESPN has developed best practices for utilizing the technology in live game applications which have provided ESPN the ability to streamline workflow operations, adjust 3D camera positioning, test transmission and gauge fan reaction to a 3D telecast versus a traditional telecast.

Carlos Allen - 3rd White House Crasher Photo
So it wasn't just the Salahi couple who crashed the White House state dinner in November. A third person, now named as Carlos Allen, also crashed the Obama dinner for India's prime minister. He is a D.C. party promoter and CEO of HUSH Society.

Washington Post reported this about Carlos Allen:
A congressional source, who was granted anonymity to speak about the ongoing investigation into porous security at the White House, identified the man as Carlos Allen, a D.C. party promoter who runs an event space in Mount Pleasant. The source saw Allen's name in official e-mails and documents pertaining to the Secret Service probe. Allen, 39, did not respond Monday to repeated e-mails and phone messages. The Post spoke with him last month regarding a comment he made to a blogger about having attended the state dinner; in the brief exchange, he denied knowledge of anything to do with the dinner.

Conveyor Belt of Love -- Premiered Tonight
ABC is funny to come up with a show like Conveyor Belt of Love. The name of the show suggests what the show is all about -- finding love on a conveyor belt!
Endemol ("Big Brother") and executive producer Tom Shelly ("Survivor," "Dating in the Dark") came up with the "Conveyor Belt of Love" show. The premise of the show is, single guys on the conveyor belt are given 60 seconds to "charm" one of five single ladies waiting to quiz them.

Casey Johnson is dead. It was just last month when the news came out that reality star Tila Tequila and girlfriend Casey Johnson were engaged. Today, Monday, it is reported that the 30-year-old Casey Johnson died. What was the cause of Casey Johnson's death?
Fox411.com reports that Tequila and Johnson were seen posing for photos together at the Famous Stars & Straps party in Hollywood just a few weeks ago. According to an eyewitness, Tequila was holding up the starlet all night as she could "hardly stand straight."
There are also reports that Casey Johnson is struggling with substance abuse.
Tila Tequila confirmed the news Johnson's death on her Twitter account: "Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away. Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family."

Johnny Lee Wicks - Las Vegas Courthouse Shooting Update
The Las Vegas courthouse shooting was first reported here. Latest updates of the shooting this morning have revealed the name of the shooter -- Johnny Lee Wicks, a 66-year-old retiree.
Johnny Lee Wicks opened fired at the US Courthouse in Las Vegas, Nevada because his Social Security benefits were apparently denied or reduced, a law enforcement official said.

Johnny Lee Wicks opened fired at the US Courthouse in Las Vegas, Nevada because his Social Security benefits were apparently denied or reduced, a law enforcement official said.
According to court documents, Wicks had filed a lawsuit against the Social Security Administration in April of 2008 alleging racial discrimination. In a handwritten complaint, Wicks said the discrimination had followed him from California to Nevada. Wicks wrote this about one California agent, “Doesn’t try to hide the way he feels about black people so he reduced my benefits.”
Wicks explained he suffered a stroke some years back. He claimed his benefits dropped from $886 to $445 a month and then to $128 a month.
U.S. Magistrate Judge George Foley reviewed the case and determined Wicks’ payments were reduced because Nevada, unlike California, does not provide a state supplement. When Wicks moved to Nevada he was no longer eligible for the supplement.

Las Vegas Shooting - Shootout Federal Building
A 65-year-old security guard died, and another one injured during the Las Vegas shooting today at the lobby of a federal building. A gunman opened fire at around 8 a.m. and lasted for several minutes. The suspect died during the shootout.

FBI Special Agent Joseph Dickey said the gunman died across the street shortly after the shootout. The man's identity and motive were not immediately known.
Authorities believe the shooter acted alone, Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Roxanna Lea Irwin said.
The building was evacuated, police and news helicopters circled overhead, and Las Vegas police cordoned off the area for several blocks. A 16-story state and local courthouse two blocks away was locked down as a precaution.
After police arrived, paramedics wheeled at least two people out and down a ramp to ambulances.
